Rocks Rule!

Join us Tuesday, February 1st for rock painting. It was raining at story time this past Tuesday. We made rain sticks. Using mailing tubes, aluminum foil, dried beans, and rice the kids did a great job making and decorating their rain sticks. Way to go story time crafters!

Think you can guess the name of Mr. Putney's unique animal friends? Check out Mr. Putney's Quacking Dog by Jon Agee to test your wacky animal name knowledge.

Jonathan Allen's, I'm not scared! I'm not cute! will introduce you and your preschooler to the cutest and funniest little owl.

Come check out the Emergent Reader Story Time. It rocks!

Birds!

We love birds here at story time, so we made bird feeders using pine cones, peanut butter, and bird seed. I read that birds need a little help this time of year, food is scarce for them, so putting up a bird feeder is a nice thing to do for our feathered friends. And what would story time be without some awesome books.

Do you know where cobras live? How about river otters?
Well, for answers check out Wayne Lynch's book Whose House Is This?

If you have a preschooler with a lot of bedtime requests, One More Hug for Madison by Caroline Jayne Church will shed some light on who falls asleep first sometimes.

Is he a chicken or is he an elephant? Or is he something else entirely?
This newborn chicken is so big it's confusing all the other chickens. Reading Chicken Big by Keith Graves will put a big smile on your face.

Lizards by Nic Bishop has incredibly detailed photos of komodo dragons, chameleons, and of course lizards.
Do you want to see a flying dragon soaring through the air? How about a leaf-tailed gecko camouflaged on a leaf? If you answered yes, then this is the book for you.

Story time is always free and always fun. Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. in the Carnegie Room. See you Tuesday, January 25th for more books, crafts, and fun.
