Snip, Snap Alligators

Oh, my we had a wonderful time at Busy Hands and Feet Story Time this week. All about alligators and crocodiles. Several great books and rhymes are available on this favorite story time subject. The books I read were:

Mama Don't Allow by Thatcher Hurd is fun and the kids can sing the song afterwards.
A Frog in the Bog is great for early literacy skills such as rhyming and sequencing.
One of my all time favorite rhymes is The Lady with the Alligator Purse. Enjoy this rhyming verse when ever you need a little nonsense.

Miss Lucy had a baby
She named him Tiny Tim
She put him in the bath tub
To see if he could swim
He drank up all the water
He ate up all the soap
He tried to eat the bathtub
But it wouldn't go down his throat
Miss Lucy called the Doctor
Miss Lucy called the Nurse
Miss Lucy called the LadyWith the Alligator Purse
“Mumps!” said the Doctor
“Measles!” said the Nurse
“Nothing!” said the LadyWith the Alligator Purse
Penicillin said the Doctor
Castor Oil said the Nurse
Pizza said the LadyWith the Alligator Purse.
Out went the Doctor
Out went the Nurse
Out went the LadyWith the Alligator Purse.

Hope to see you at our next Busy Hands and Feet Story Time on February 4th at 10:30. Even though the weather feels like Spring the theme will be Winter ---Br-r-r-r-r-r-r-r-r. Diana

Emergent Reader Story Time

Hi Blog Readers,
Story times have presumed, last week the Emergent Reader Storytime took a look at the fascinating world of polar bears.
Using white paint the preschoolers colored polar bears on black construction paper and we read some amazing facts about polar bears.

If you have a child between the ages four and six that loves books and making crafts then please join us every tuesday at ten (January 12th - March 9th) in the carnegie room. I look forward to meeting you!
